Outfitting the Kitchen on a Budget

Budget KitchenOne of the biggest problems for new cooks is a lack of tools to get the job done. So many young people pay little attention to what they need for the kitchen. Often, the reason I hear is that it’s too expensive to properly equip a kitchen.

Not true! Sure, you can spend thousands of dollars on high-end gadgets and such. But you can also get started for less than $200. I know, because I just did it.

In my last blog post, I showed you my new kitchen. A day or two after I shot that video, I went to the local big box store with $200. My goal was to outfit the kitchen well enough that I could cook my own meals. Obviously, I didn’t get everything a kitchen would like to have. But I will eventually be able to return to the East Coast to get my belongings out of storage. At that point, I’ll have everything I need, so I didn’t want to overdo it on this buying spree.

Check out the video below to see what I bought for my $200.

So… you can see that it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to outfit your kitchen. Use this video as a guideline, then make adjustments according to your own needs and your budget. Then, have some fun. And don’t forget…

Play with your food!
