Roasted Broccoli

Manly Kitchen Oven Roasted BroccoliBroccoli isn’t normally found on Manly Menus. Too bad, as it’s really, REALLY good for you. I’ll admit it took my a good long while to stop hating these little trees, but now I love them, and they’re a regular part of my diet.

For those who still don’t care for it all that much, I offer this wonderful idea: roast the broccoli! I came across this one some time back, and loved it the first time I made it. I think you will, too. And since I don’t have a story to go with this recipe, let’s just get started right away, shall we?

Ingredients:

One head of fresh broccoli
2-4 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt
Pepper

Manly Kitchen Oven Roasted BroccoliInstructions:

Preheat oven to 375°.

Mince garlic and put in zip lock bag.

Add olive oil, and a few shakes of salt and pepper in a ziploc bag. Let everything get to know each other and get happy while you prepare the broccoli.

Chop a head of broccoli into florets – individual trees. I find that smaller is better – to a point.

Place broccoli in bag and shake it all up. Shake it a LOT! You know, like you did with the maracas the last time you visited that Mexican restaurant and got drunk and danced on the tables and all? Like that – only without the alcohol.

Spread borccoli on baking sheet and bake on top rack of oven for about 30 minutes.

Serve immediately.

For an extra burst of flavor and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese just before serving.

Now you have no excuse for not serving a dark green vegetable with your Manly Dinners.

Play with your food!
